Story Time Third Piggy
Once upon a time there was one little pig, who had two brothers, triplets they were, who was finally able to find a block of land, near his two brothers, his second brother’s girlfriend and their family of little piglets; eight to be exact. It had taken him a long time to locate the exact plot of land on which he wanted to build his new home. The one made out of bricks and mortar, just like his great-great-great cousin’s home from the fairy tale.
Now because the third little, pig was so particular he had kept in contact with the conveyancer all throughout his search, because he wanted to make sure that when he found the perfect piece of land he could secure it quickly. The conveyancer who specialized in stress free settlements appreciated this contact because she was ready to take action when the third little pig rang.
The block of land that the third little pig wanted to build his house on was located very near the first and second little pigs, the second little pig’s girlfriend and their family of little piglets.
One day when he has looking at the block of land, to make sure it was perfect, he visited the second little pig, his girlfriend and their family of little piglets. Whilst sitting down to dinner the second little pig told him that he was keen to make his girlfriend his wife and they were hoping to hold the wedding at the third little pigs new house, when it was built. This excited the third little pig very much because loved a great party.
So, whilst the second little pig, his fiancée and their little piglets enjoyed being a family and planned their wedding, which would be held the following spring, the third little pig waited for the conveyancer to practice true diligence in their processes and systems, in order for him to settle on his block of land. The first little pig spent time entertaining his friends; trying out new recipes that he would use to cater for all the family and friends who came to his brother’s wedding. Everyone was blissfully happy, until the conveyancer contacted the third little pig to discuss some issues she had found with the block of land he wanted to buy.
When the conveyancer had checked for encumbrances she had come across a restrictive covenant for the estate, where the perfect block of land was located, which meant each of the houses had to be built with certain materials and colours. In this case the third little pig would be required to build a white brick house with a black roof where he had his heart set on building a red brick house with a white thatched roof. Red was his favourite colour.
The conveyancer also found out that the sewerage line passed through the land at such a point that he would be unable to build his cubby house, for his second brother and his finances little piglets to play in, on that part of the land as the sewerage company had an easement. As these restrictions were going to hamper the third little pig’s future use of the perfect piece of land he sat for a while and contemplated what he would do. Being very particular he knew he would be very unhappy with a white house with a black roof. And, a house without a cubby house was unthinkable.
As the wedding of his brother the second little pig, to his fiancé, was to be held the following spring, at the house the third little pig was to build on his block, the third little pig gave up on his dream of the perfect piece of land and went searching for a not-so-perfect piece. He knew this could take a long time, as had happened when he had searched for the perfect block of land. But, it didn’t. Surprisingly it all happened very quickly.
One day, whilst he was out walking in the woods with one of his friends, in the totally opposite direction to the perfect block of land, the first little pigs apartment and the second little pig, his fiancé and their little piglets home, he saw it. The not-so-perfect piece of land, that was well, not so perfect but just right. It was much smaller than the perfect block of land and it was in the totally opposite direction to the perfect block of land, the first little pigs apartment and the second little pig, his fiancé and his piglets’ home but it was closer to the primary school, where the little piglets would attend when they were old enough, and his mother and fathers house. It also had a great butcher on the corner of the short street nearby.
The third little pig knew that this not-so-perfect piece of land was not perfect but it was just right. Here he could build a small but tall house that looked nothing like the house his great-great-great cousin from the fairy tale had built. But, it would be made out of bricks and mortar. Red bricks with a white thatched roof, because red was his favourite colour.Thankfully, there was a sign advertising the not-so-perfect piece of land for sale and on it was a phone number which he wrote down on the paper he borrowed from the friend he was walking in the woods with. But, before he called this number he called the number of his conveyancer, who was pleased to hear that the third little pig had found a not-so-perfect block of land which he was keen to buy. Once she had the address, which was not too far from where her family was settled, she practiced due diligence and made sure everything was in order with the not-so-perfect piece of land. Within much less time than it had taken for the third little pig to find the perfect piece of land and much more time than it had taken him to find the not-so-perfect piece of land, the third little pig became the proud owner of his own piece of paradise; one with no issues that needed to be resolved. It was the perfect stress free settlement.
And as the next spring grew closer and the plans for his small but tall house made from red bricks and mortar were signed off by his local council he began to build his small but tall house on his not-so-perfect piece of land, near the woods, where he had gone walking with his friend, not that long ago.
